The Friendly Hotels group is reviving the spirit of the founding architects of the Savoyard resort of Les Arcs, notably Charlotte Perriand, with the relaunch of the " La Cachette " hotel, renovated and pared back to its original principles.

The concept. It's an institution in Savoie, in the heart of a village born over fifty years ago from the vision of a group of architects. Recently acquired by the Friendly Hotels group, which decided to restore the spirit of the original founders, " La Cachette " has become a cosy, four-star hotel. Like much of the resort, the building is classified as "Remarkable Contemporary Architecture", and has undergone a number of transformations away from its original structure. The first task was to clean up the building and rediscover the principles dear to Charlotte Perriand: sloping facades, large picture windows facing the mountains, natural materials... The Savoy-based firm Patriarche was responsible for restoring the architectural intent of the 88-room establishment, all with views of the peaks.

Decoration. After resurrecting the original structure, Patriarche multiplied the nods to Charlotte Perriand with several pieces of furniture: a graphic wall of sconces with pivoting shutters reissued by Nemo, octagonal tables designed for the resort, an LC4 lounge chair at the reception desk, as well as Zero Edition stools in solid oak. For the rest, the firm drew on the aesthetics of the 1970s with mismatched seats for the restaurant as well as headboards made of compressed hay and cushions from the Arpin spinning mill, a historic factory near Bourg-Saint-Maurice with which Perriand had worked.

Après-ski. At the foot of the slopes, " La Cachette " has its own ski room (with ski boot warmers). At the end of the day, you can relax in the outdoor sauna with views of the Mont Blanc massif, or treat yourself to a treatment (Physioski's sports treatment with Weleda products, or Pure Altitude's beauty treatment). After a drink in the fifth-floor bar, with its fireplace and views of the Grand Blanc, dinner is served in the form of a high-quality buffet with homemade pastries, not to be missed at breakfast either.
